    Director, Marketing and Communications
    Camp Fire USA national headquarters seeks candidates for the position of Director of Marketing and Communications.

    At 100 years old in 2010, Camp Fire USA is one of America’s oldest and most progressive community based youth development organizations. Approximately 330,000 youth and teens participate in Camp Fire programs annually, supported by more than 10,000 volunteers, 3,429 employees system wide, and local and national board members. Total annual operating revenue is more than $60 million, of which national headquarters comprises $4 million. Through its program quality framework and outcomes based youth leadership and development model, the nation wide network of 80 Camp Fire councils partner with community organizations and support families to “build caring, confident youth and future leaders.”

    This position reports directly to the Chief External Relations Officer and is responsible for planning and directing marketing of the organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    (Other duties may be assigned)

    • Leads and supervises the day-to-day operations areas including brand marketing, PR, media relations, advertising, digital and social media marketing, and website.
    • Develops and executes comprehensive marketing plans and programs, both short and long range, to support revenue objectives of organization.
    • Plans and oversees advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail.
    • Serves as liaison with outside agencies on ongoing promotional campaigns.
    • Oversees development and production of promotional and collateral materials.
    • Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
    • Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
    • Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across all functions of corporate entity as well as affiliated members.

    * Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field or equivalent experience; master's degree preferred
    * 5-10 years in brand and consumer “product” marketing, with a history of increasing brand value with tangible marketing results.
    * Strong proven experience in traditional brand marketing, as well as social/digital media with a view toward expanding earned media exposure and consumer engagement. 
    * Demonstrated experience working within and contributing to a budget
    * Familiarity with using market research and adjusting market strategy to meet changing market conditions
    * Excellent written and verbal skills
    * Knowledge of Word Processing, Spreadsheet, presentation, database/CRM and Internet software, as well as knowledge of digital/social media platforms.  
    * Directly supervises one employee. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
