New York Life Foundation
The New York Life Foundation has made a three-year, $1,000,000 investment in Camp Fire to support implementation of Step-It-Up-2-Thrive. By 2015, Camp Fire will integrate the Step-It-Up-2-Thrive model into all of its middle and high school programs, establishing young people on well-defined journeys to brighter, more hopeful futures.
"The New York Life Foundation has been a long-time supporter of Camp Fire because, like us, they see the potential for success in every child. Together we will work towards making a positive impact on the lives of children and families nationwide," said Chris Park, president of the New York Life Foundation. "This proactive partnership will help guide today's youth in their journey to reach their full potential."
When engaged with Camp Fire programs, young people work in small groups. Their adult mentors guide them to identify their "sparks,"—self-discovered skills, talents, or interests that help motivate youth and give their lives' meaning.
